Vincent was ready for them in spite of the dreadful hunger and the maddening thunder of fresh hot blood running through their veins he stood waiting unafraid and defiant,Mal admired this quality but he knew it would also be the vampire's undoing "so you think I'm going the vamp equivilent of insane hmm? Let's think... why would that be can anyone tell me?" Mal took a step forward and saw the expression harden in Vincent's eyes {he could strike at any moment an we'd have no warnin damn! The timin couldnae be worse loon} Jamie scanned the sky for any sign of Marcus he'd grown so used to the big vamp's confidence piss takes {if your in a fit state get here soon this will be next to impossible without you} Vincent caught every word and tossed them to the snowy wind then came towards Jamie with a murderous glint in his eye.

Mal moved to stop him and Vincent regarded him with disdain the older vamp wrapped an arm around his neck and increased the grip as if he was slowly tightening a vice "your goin nowhere! Near him if you'll no listen to reason loon we'll have no choice but to grant your wish an execute you tonight!....Or we can hunt until your too full too move!" Mal's resolute voice was uncomfortably close to his ear and Vincent was unable to ignore the sound of blood rushing around his head,he wrenched his arm away and turned on Mal with blinding speed,as his spiral fangs drove right into the jugular the noise ceased and he drank slowly to prelong the sense of peace.

The vampire had fed well in case of an emergency and Vincent's fevered drinking didn't bother him,he finished and silence filled his mind as the rich scarlet sight giving torturous liquid flowed down his throat.He heard only the night and a cold wind shifting the branches of a leafless tree,which clattered and rattled like bones hollow empty of life and any purpose for it "are you alright?...." {How incongruous that seems when nothing and noone can harm me} Vincent smiled and licked a few stray drops from his fangs they glowed in the cold moonlight and his skin had a tinge of pink "I'll be fine as long as mortals exist you will have nothing to fear...Anyway I've decided to leave there's little left for me here" he sounded so matter of fact {and why not? The 2 who had posed any kind of threat are now helpess, and by the time they recover my power will be more than even they are prepared to deal with}

"Where are you thinking of going..At least let 1 of us accompany you until we'er sure your alright!" Jamie hadn't meant to sound so worried but his friend's aggression and distress had unsettled him "I'll be fine there's no danger in the world now" his words were laden with disappointment"once we fought to survive and the simple act of feeding was filled with risk most of them fatal! Now we are free to catch trains, seduce and drink in public, and no one bats an eyelid! It's as if we live in a city populated by the blind!" Mal probed beneath the arrogance and desperation and found a terrible longing for a lost life Vincent was afraid of the advancement and what he had become "loon I ken why your goin to protect us from your hunger...But we'er no afraid pal...And as you said its far too easy now I'm tired of hunting masel I prefer em to come to me like" Vincent looked deep in to Mal's blue eyes and only he could take the intense brooding anger he lowered his eyes but not in supplication and put an arm around Vincent in honest affection.

He shivered when Mal's cool skin brushed against his neck everything was heightened and turning him on but not in sexual way he was once again fixated on drinking like a hopeless alcoholic Vincent couldn't help himself the urge overtook what remained of his rational mind and he lost control {watch it!} Before either vamp was able to react he broke free and raced off towards the city Jamie followed but Vincent stopped and suddenly the surrounding darkness seemed to slow to a blurred halt he snarled bared his fangs and Jamie took 1 step and a clawed hand shot out raking his chest and opening deep bleeding cuts Vincent was on him and drinking like a vampire who's always been denied what his body craves Mal hauled him off and held the growling frious creature with a strong grip "NO! There's where you should be! Its gone too far now loon if you come back here I WILL! carry out the execution!" Vincent growled and drew his fangs along the length of Mal's right arm in a threat.

He took hold of Vincent's face and headbutted him to the ground the vampire was unharmed and Mal was unmarked Vincent had hoped for even a trickle of blood but,as he plotted his next move a captivating scent reached out and drew him away it came from a young woman who had been attacked she lay bleeding by the Broomielaw but that wasn't all, next to blood Vincent loved sex he'd been delighted to find he could still achieve an erection and make the female vamps that crowded around "the fresh meat" scream and howl with illicit pleasure she had crawled away to find shelter and Vincent easily followed her trail "you've left too many clues my sweet and taken all the fun out of it a guy could get angry at someone so transparent" then he caught a stronger scent fresh blood coming not from an external wound and he raced off to find her with a brutal hunger that made his fangs ache.

She gave herself away with a faint cry that only he could have heard Vincent found her 1/2 lying in a pool of blood from her injuries and something more, for a moment he hesitated she'd clearly been raped and the memory of his ordeal was still painfully fresh he thought of getting help and making her whole but he'd rather slip his dick inside her to cleanse the wound and drink from that hot swollen shaved blonde slit."Hmm there's so much a vamp could kill himself on you my sweet..." She hadn't the energy to scream and her mind was unable to comprehend the truth, a beautiful killer stood before her neither angel nor devil but trapped somewhere in between as Vincent crouched down she wanted him inside her wanted the lethal seductive love that only vampires are capable of,but she knew he could only offer death he took the girl in his arms as if they were about to make love and gently slid his fangs in to her smooth ivory neck.

When he had drained her almost to the point of death Vincent went lower and drank from that bruised swollen slit where the blood was dark blue and slicked out in clots which he loved he drank her dry and relaxed by watching the dying moon swim across a winter blue river he still held her in a tender embrace and they should have been lovers lying in a gothic iron bed covered in white linen and velvet, were it not for the rubbish lying around and the rough voices of drunks trying to drown their wasted hopes and dreams "ahhh Mamma Luna you and I are seldom alone...Are you upset by this I'm sorry I can't help myself" as he spoke a thick bank of cloud crossed the river from the east and hid Mamma Luna's face from his sordid desperation.

"Aw don't tell me your in a huff now eh" Vincent stood up and lifted the dead girl with one jerk of his arm "and I was going to dedicate this flawed beauty to you mia caro" the moon stayed shy and he strolled towards the dark river as small waves disturbed by the wind, lapped against the dank weed covered walls "bye my sweet...We could have been much more maybe in my next life I'll meet you again..Then we can dance to endless music" he kissed her cold blue lips and went to drop her in to the water but Vincent felt something deep inside and held her tight against the pull from the hungry river he felt unable to let go in every way she had come to mean something to him, something unfathomable and shocking, he wanted to turn the clock back to see her alive and free not bloodied filthy and smeared with the secretions of unwanted sex holding a corpse disgusted Vincent yet the thought of throwing this once innocent girl in to the polluted Clyde filled him with abject horror.

Vincent let her down on a bench and tried to clear up the confusion "I can't have her hanging around like a girlfriend I need but no longer want...It's insane!" His loud voice disturbed a crowd of drunks who were attempting to light a fire to avoid freezing to death, the leaked blood was already solidifing and would soon resemble the stained glass that had held him spellbound on a bitter night when Mamma Luna had blazed like a ball of St Elmo's fire, after discussing the issue internally he turned back and threw the corpse in to the river with hardly a glance.

Marcus had been just as lucky he had managed to feast on a walker who'd fallen and succumbed to the cold, the hot rich oxygenated blood reached right in to every fibre of his starving veins and gave him the strength to reach the bothy ahead of a raging blizzard he had forced himself to check on Lorne but the vampire was gone the snow had been disturbed and it looked as if he'd fed, then struggled in to the air, while Marcus was unconscious

"Christ! only you could a done that man...Maybe the wait il no be so long"
he made a fire and set about treating the semi healed wound only Lorne's blood had averted his death, the vampire had flown back to Norway and hid now in a secluded cave like a troll the analogy amused him for a second or 2 but his suffering was overwhelming ^to escape would be easy...So why do I deny it^

Post 14 by Goblin (I have proven to myself and the world that I need mental help) on Monday, 15-Nov-2004 13:27:24

He wrestled with the doubts and the reasons Vincent's long awaited ascension, and Jamie's unexplored power, scared and thrilled him more than the many battles he'd endured over his leadership of the coven and the times he'd fallen victim to Marcus and his dangerous charm ^this has to end or we will soon see no more moonlit nights!^ Lorne was slowly recovering and his curiosity was as strong as ever no sooner had he secured his lair in Norway than he fed ravenously and left to face Vincent.

The vampires met when the moon chose to reveal her face Lorne appeared as if nothing had changed between them he smiled and strode up to Vincent holding out a silver flask. He caught the scent of a cold dim cave then moss, lichen, snow, desolation and salt: Assailed him and his head reeled as the information raced through his mind he drank deeply while keeping an eye on Lorne who deliberately leaned against a wall in his relaxed and nonchalant way to show Vincent his assumption was a mistake ^you look well my friend...I'm impressed with the result...Molto bello!^ His use of Italian buried in sexual innuendo disturbed Vincent he was attracted but still thinking about a dead blonde "one more among so many" his regret at letting her go was palpable.

"Mortis I'm touched really its too kind of you however we have other far more important things to deal with for instance ...My succession" Lorne absorbed the exaggerated emphasis of that last word and smiled revealing his spiral fangs, the expression reminded Vincent of snarling Arctic wolves who fed off the blonde vampire's kills ^hmm your right and we'll start^ he turned to go and placed a hand on Vincent's arm the desire burned through him like his vaguely remembered whisky "...But without Marcus it will be empty...^ The connotation was obvious Lorne was ready to concede his leadership and carry out the act which most vampires regarded as the last taboo.

"How do you plan to kill yourself" Vincent had always been direct this lack of subtlety had once ensnared Marcus he had lusted after Vincent's company, until in the end, they had come to view their relationship as a form of entrapment ^I'm a Viking so why not follow tradition...Though it does seem a waste in many ways^ the vampire put a hand on Lorne's face and traced around his lips which didn't move when he "spoke" "I have always wanted to hear you speak, accents still fascinate me do you know I spend countless hours just listening to people at airports" Lorne held and kissed Vincent with sincere tenderness.

They disappeared in to the bothy and made love as only 2 male vampires can as Vincent caressed Lorne's cool body the distance between them evaporated and they melted in to each other there was no violence or threats only a sharing of real uncomplicated emotion and a realisation that this would be the last time they would see one another.Vincent screamed in ecstacy as Lorne's long nails raked down his back, and the other hand gripped his dick, the vicious injuries were nothing more than faded memories and his icy touch dissolved them completely.Lorne took a little blood just enough to strengthen their bond and Vincent felt a rush of something so strange he almost didn't recognise it "........I will....Miss....You...Badly...Help me to carry on!" Lorne bent down and ran his tongue around the end of Vincent's erect dick which jumped as he lay back in absolute bliss.

They rolled around on a large bed and howled as if no one could hear them,Mal shuddered when Vincent's unearthly scream split the silence, he hadn't forgotten how it felt to be so alive! Lorne carefully, tenderly, slid his fangs in to his lover's neck and drank while the vampire writhed in pleasure. The act of sharing his blood with another immortal who wanted and loved him if only for tonight, filled his mind with thrilling images "don't...you....EVER LEAVE ...ME!...Lorne it would be unbearable!" Speech became impossible for him as the dying vampire brought them both to orgasm later they lay entwined engrossed in each other like 2 1st time lovers but Vincent read the far away look in Lorne's eyes and tearfully allowed him to leave.

He felt dirty and used the idea of Lorne paying for their few hours of passion wasn't so absurd "what the hell was I thinking of this is worse than the dead girl at least she had been a virgin" then it struck him a virgin! Was that why he felt so strange, Marcus had warned his Lestat not to chase these chaste and frightened girls who clearly wanted to lose their inhibitions with one of the undead "christ!Mortality was never this complicated and at least I have an alibi for everything" the lie did nothing to comfort him Marcus would'nt let this mistake go unpunished.

Vincent went to shower and hopefully wash away the guilt but while he ran the water it went,to be replaced by a brilliant determination and an assurance that no matter what transpired in the next few days,he had been loved totally utterly and as far as Lorne was concerned there were no debts to be paid, no injuries to endure, his love was always free Marcus was livid however he had plans to prevent Vincent from gaining control, the vampire was unaware that a spy lurked in the coven one so unsupected that not even Lorne was aware of him.

Post 25 by Goblin (I have proven to myself and the world that I need mental help) on Saturday, 20-Nov-2004 10:31:30

things remained static for several days until Marcus appeared in his usual way like a sudden squall Vincent had spent those days complacently reading up on the succession ceremony in spite of Mal warning him against it, the vamp was only listening to the voice in his head which said *you cannot be stopped this time is yours alone* Jamie watched his old friend slipping away and an arrogant and rather frightening creature replace him he'd played along and even encouraged this reckless disregard for his safety while Marcus was around none of them could relax. He'd hidden the anger and his vital secret so well but every so often the mask fell away.
